The Type or The Bulge? Finally Settling Men's Underwear's Sexiest Debate

What makes men’s underwear sexy? The type of underwear or the bulge?

What catches your attention when you look at a guy in underwear? The type of underwear or the size/shape of the bulge? We posed the question, and now it's time to answer it properly. Let us know what you think. There is a reward at the end of the blog too.

After over five years of designing men's underwear, we've had countless conversations about what makes a pair truly sexy. Is it the cut, the fabric, the way it frames the body? Or is it simply about the pouch and the bulge effect? The truth, as with most good things in life, is more interesting than a simple either/or. Here

Self Expression through Underwear

Let's give style its due credit. The type of underwear a man chooses says something about him before a single word is exchanged. For most of human history, men's underwear was designed not to be seen. It was functional, hidden, and utterly unremarkable. Today? It's a cornerstone of personal style and self-expression. The shift from purely functional to expression and luxurious has been dramatic.

What you wear signals confidence. A well-constructed pair of trunks or briefs shows that you care about your appearance and comfort. As one sexologist put it, the appeal doesn't lie in the brand or shape itself, but in the confidence it creates. And confidence? That's universally sexy.

The modern underwear renaissance has brought us everything from velvet jockstraps to lace boxers. Designers are pushing boundaries, and men are embracing pieces that make them feel sexier. There's something undeniably alluring about a man who's secure enough to wear something playful, daring, or simply well-made.

Even the waistband matters. Some prefer minimal branding, while others prefer bold waistbands that show the brand they love. It's about intention: the message that you put thought into what you wear, even when nobody's supposed to see it.

The Underwear  Bulge: The Primal Pull

Now, let's address the elephant (or rather, the bulge) in the room. There's a reason why bulge-enhancing underwear and underwear that shows off your endowments are a multi-million dollar industry. The visual of a well-presented package triggers something deep and instinctive. Studies suggest that larger bulges are perceived as more masculine, dominant, and aggressive. It's biology meeting fashion.

But here's the nuance that often gets lost: a great bulge isn't about artificial enhancement. It's about support. Some need more support than others due to having a bigger endowment or bigger balls.

Pouch underwear, when designed correctly, isn't about pushing anything forward to create a fake impression. It's about letting everything hang the way it's meant to! Free from compression and separation. It's about feeling like wearing nothing at all while getting the needed support. What feels like enhancement is simply the result of not having everything squashed flat or pulled downward. This is the whole idea behind our LEGACY COLLECTION.

When a man wears well-designed underwear with a thoughtfully constructed pouch, the result is a natural, confident silhouette. It's not about size; it's about presentation. The bulge becomes a subtle statement, a whisper rather than a shout. It exudes a quiet confidence that's incredibly attractive.

As one enthusiast put it, wearing underwear with a well-designed pouch makes them "feel horny all of the time". One of our customers said he always gets sex anything he wears a pair of Club Seven underwear. That's the power of feeling good in what you're wearing.

So, what's sexier, the type or the bulge?

The answer is both, working in harmony. The type of underwear sets the stage. It's the frame, the context, the declaration of personal style. A jockstrap signals something very different from a classic brief, which signals something different from a sleek trunk. The type tells a story about who you are and how you see yourself.

The bulge is the focal point. It's what draws the eye, what creates that moment of anticipation. A well-supported, naturally presented package is visually compelling in a way that flat, compressed underwear simply can't match.

But here's the secret: a great bulge only works when the type is right. When the pouch design is right. A poorly chosen style can create an "ugly bulge" that's more awkward than attractive. Too loose, and there's nothing to see. Too tight, and everything gets squashed into an unflattering shape. The magic happens when the type and the fit work together to create a silhouette that's both comfortable and compelling.

What We've Learned

After half a decade of designing underwear, here's what we know for sure:
Men in good-looking underwear are sexy. The type matters because it reflects confidence, intention, and personal style.

Men in good-looking underwear with a well-designed pouch are even sexier. The bulge matters because it's the natural, confident presentation of masculinity.

The sexiest underwear is the pair that makes the wearer feel comfortably sexy. And when a man feels sexy and comfortable, that confidence radiates outward. The type and the bulge are just tools; use them wisely for good.

So, next time you're shopping for men’s underwear, don't choose between style and support. Choose both. Choose underwear that looks good, feels good, and presents you at your best. Because that's what's actually sexy.

Whilst its always nice to show off a great bulge you seem to always forget the guy who isn’t always well endowed. What about these guys. Not everyone is hung like a horse so to speak!
